So back in April I decided to try a natural deodorant, and wrote about it here.
If you didn’t read it, I was basically covering off that I had wanted to try a natural deodorant for some time but was nervous about this as I am naturally a sweaty (yep you heard me) and anxious person.
I used the Salt of the Earth roll on deodorant for a couple weeks and then wrote about my experience. I said that I was happy to keep using it, but whilst it did help with odour, it didn’t stop excessive sweating.
Well, after using it for a good couple months I can confirm – it’s a yes from me. Yes I still love it, yes I think it’s great, and yes I have already ordered my next one.
I also noticed that I don’t have as much trouble with excessive sweating anymore. It probably took a few weeks but my body seemed to adjust. Maybe it’s getting used to the change of product and lack of chemicals I don’t know, but I’m much happier and more confident than I have been for years to go out for the day or wear nice clothes without worrying about body odour or getting big old damp patches in my outfits.

I have been on multiple long dog walks through the woods and fields, and yes I get a bit sweaty in the heat and doing the exercise but only as much as any other person would. And, when I get home from these walks, I don’t need to dive in the shower or change clothes. In fact, I sometimes give myself the sniff test (yep, seriously) and I can still smell the lovely scent of the deodorant!
I’ve used it prior to jumping on the exercise bike and obviously you work up a sweat doing that and will want to shower after, but the deodorant does a great job and you don’t stink up the gym (or living room in my case).
To summarise, thank you to Salt Of The Earth for giving me this game changer, and I would absolutely recommend trying it yourself.
Have you had a similar or different experience to mine? Let me know!
I currently work part time due to mental health and chronic illness, and do not generate an income from my blog. If you would like to support me and my writing you can ‘buy me a coffee’ which will help me keep following my dream and I will be forever grateful 💜
Sounds intriguing. I tried an all natural crystal deodorant and it did not help on either smell or sweat. Might be time to try again. It never occurred to me that deodorant might grow more effective over time. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah it’s strange isn’t it but then for most skincare/hair care products you have to give it time to work so I’m glad I stuck with this.

That’s great that it worked out. I’ve been reluctant to try any sort of natural deodorant because I’m also naturally sweaty.

Yeah it worried me for years but I’m glad I tried it. Oddly it being the pandemic kinda helped so I didn’t have to worry about physically going into work and socialising.

Yeah that makes sense.

Great photo!! I’m glad you love the deodorant!! I think I use Secret unscented, but I’m not sure. I like the kind that gets pushed out of holes in the top like a cream. One issue I have is trying to buy it in stores, because you can never see on the label which ones are unscented. So I was standing there staring at the deodorants for so long once that a security guard started tagging me from behind the aisle. Irritating. I should’ve given him a look and said, “Well, you tell me which ones are unscented then,” but I didn’t. 😀
I admire your use of natural products!! YAY!

Oh yes cream ones are nice, kinder on your skin and the planet than aerosol for sure. Yes it’s frustrating isn’t it I would’ve said if you’re going to stare you can help me find what I need.. in my head anyway 😂

I myself switched to baking soda to avoid aluminium (which was staining my shirt armpits) and I’ve never looked back. I still sweat a lot but what you gonna do, eh?
Also, beautiful pic! What did you use to take it? Anyway, thanks for this post!

Oh yeah a lot of my tops used to get that horrible discolouration from deodorants. How does baking soda work, that thing has a million uses!
Oh thanks, just my phone, I’d love a nice camera but can’t really afford it just yet.
